Trap Neuter Release

Community TNR Program

The City of Oklahoma City offers a Trap Neuter Release (TNR) program for feral cats, known to some as the Community Cat Program. If you live inside of Oklahoma City limits you are eligible to bring your community cat to Oklahoma City Animal Welfare any day of the week between 9 – 5:30. Your cat will be spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination and an ear tip, and be returned to the address you provide them at no charge to you.

The TNR program helps manage free-roaming cat populations without harming them and can eventually lead to a humane end to a cat overpopulation situation in local neighborhoods. Oklahoma City Animal Welfare encourages the public to take part in this program.

OK Humane & TNR

OK Humane will be performing surgery on feral and outdoor living cats on Thursdays and Fridays by appointment only for $30. We are also accepting a total of 5 walk in appointments for feral cats on Monday’s, Tuesday’s, and Wednesday’s. There is a limit to 2 cats per person and once we reach 5 appointments all others will be turned away. An ear tip is mandatory to receive this pricing, no exceptions. Drop off is between 7:30 – 8:30 am and pick up will be the same day between 4:00 – 5:00 pm. This price includes the spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, and an ear tip. This pricing is available to any person trapping feral and free roaming cats for “TNR”, regardless of home address or income.

To schedule an appointment, please call the OK Humane Spay & Neuter Clinic at (405) 947-7729 with your desired date and the number of cats you would like to bring. There is a max number of 5 cats per individual per day. An ear tip is mandatory to receive this pricing, no exceptions. Drop off is between 7:30 – 8:30 am and pick up will be the same day between 4:00 – 5:00 pm. You will need to wait 24 hours before releasing your cat back outside as they will be disoriented from sedation. These cats will need to come in a secure cat trap or airline approved carrier. This is for the safety of the cats, our staff, and owners. Please do not bring cats in cardboard boxes, plastic bins, wire crates, or other unapproved container.

If you do not wish for your cat to receive an ear tip you will need to schedule the cat for a non-TNR spay or neuter surgery appointment online through our Spay & Neuter page and they will not be eligible for the discounted price.
